Alert: Fake YouTube channel impersonating Transparency International
Transparency International wishes to alert the public to a fake YouTube channel impersonating our organisation and posting highly defamatory videos against anti-corruption organisations working in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The channel, which was created on 26 February, has no relationship to Transparency International whatsoever.
We condemn this attack on independent civil society, and stand in solidarity with the individuals and organisations targeted in the videos.
We have reported the channel to YouTube for impersonation. False-flag disinformation campaigns against independent civil society should have no place on social media and must be swiftly removed by the platforms concerned.
